MOCHILLA GROOVE
MOCHILLA GROOVE is Wilson Cifuentes’ musical Project. Wilson is a wind intruments player from Bogotá, whose endeavors have taken him through diverse musical groups and styles that range from traditional Colombian to electronic music, exploring salsa, jazz, rock, amongst others throughout his musical journey.
Totó La Momposina, Carlos Vives, Adriana Lucía, Maía, and María Mulata are some of the artists for whom he has worked. During nearly 30 years of musical experience, he has also been a teacher, producer, musical arranger, and composer of original pieces for theater, documentaries, and television shows.
EXTRAÑA FIESTA is the first musical production of Mochilla Groove in which traditional instruments such as the gaita, the clarinet, and the percussion drums have been mixed with synthesizers and modern electronic sounds. Cumbia, Bullerengue, Son de Negros, and Porro have been mixed with styles such as Ambient, Tribal, Chill Out, and House Music, creating a universe of sound full of dynamics and contrast. Mochilla Groove has interpreted its songs in different scenarios in Bogotá (Colombia), Buenos Aires (Argentina), Granada (Nicaragua), and New Orleans (USA).
